| DOMAIN | The Attic and the Cursed Box |
| DANGER | Medium |
| MAIN THEME | Anticipation of a sudden appearance |
The entity lived inside an old box and fed on the child’s nightmares. Agnet received the object in exchange for a promise to put an end to the girl’s nighttime episodes.
Origin and Manifestations
The Scarecrow exists in the brief moment between anticipation and terror. It leaps out, distorts proportions, weighs down on the memory of childhood helplessness, and vanishes if the victim looks directly at it without averting their gaze.
Erotic Nature
Its seduction is based on regression: the adult is invited to stop taking responsibility for themselves, to once again become a frightened child who can be hidden away, punished, and comforted. In an erotic ritual, this helplessness can turn into dependence on whoever controls the box.
Countermeasures and Cost
A direct gaze and the absence of panic shatter the manifestation. However, the box retains the form of fear and can give birth to a new creature. It is safer to seal the object than to test how many times the horror is capable of being reborn.
