The Flower-Headed One emerges from the manholes, as if there were a layer beneath the hotel where human form has merged with aggressive flora.

The fluid from its tentacles prevents it from appearing suddenly. Melissa stops it in its tracks by pouring the fluid onto its point of emergence, after which the creature hides in the closet.
