Custodi senses changes in the structure of the world and devours the source if it disrupts the established order.
Origin and Manifestations
It does not distinguish between good and evil. Any entity that has changed its form, memory, or energy weight too drastically is a threat to it. The Antiquarian, having turned into a mindless monster, becomes the perfect meal.
Erotic Nature
Custodi has no erotic nature in the human sense. But its absorption resembles absolute appropriation: the body, history, and name cease to be separate and become part of the Custodi’s function.
Countermeasures and Cost
It is possible to hide without causing a sudden change. Rituals of transformation, bursts of power, and mass transitions attract him. It is possible to direct the Custodi toward an enemy, but it is impossible to control him once he appears.
