They offer Jack a reward and an advance in the form of the breath of fire. For completing the task, they grant him Medusa’s head—a weapon that almost no one can resist, but which can only be used once.

Their erotic nature is ritualistic. They view relationships, births, and deaths as threads that can be pulled tight, intertwined, or severed. For them, human intimacy is valuable as a knot of fate, rather than a personal experience.
Countermeasures and Cost
